About
Emily McKenzie
Emily McKenzie received her Honours Bachelor of Social Work at Lakehead University and her Master’s of Social Work from the University of Calgary. She has experience working in trauma, with modalities like EMDR and trauma focused CBT. She has worked with children, youth, adults, couples, and seniors. Her approach is client-centered, with a focus on attachment. Emily uses the social determinants of health to provide a more holistic approach to therapy.
Emily is also passionate about perinatal mental health, and has received training from PSI (Postpartum Support International) to assist families through the difficult and exciting time that is child birth. Emily is also trained in DDP (Dydatic Developmental Psychotherapy), an approach which creates strong relationships with parents and children, assists with behavioural challenges, and focuses on developmental trauma.
